About CEDREN

Centre for Environmental Design of Renewable Energy

CEDREN – Centre for Environmental Design of Renewable Energy: Interdisciplinary research centre for technical and environmental development of hydro power, wind power, power line rights-of-way and implementation of environment and energy policy. SINTEF Energy Research, the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) are the main research partners. A number of energy companies, Norwegian and international R&D institutes and universities are partners in the project.

The centre is founded by The Research Council of Norway and energy companies and is one of eight centres that are part of the scheme Centre for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME). The FME scheme consists of time-limited research centres which conduct concentrated, focused and long-term research of high international quality in order to solve specific challenges in the field of renewable energy and the environment.
